How do I buy a Kobo Plus subscription?        

On either kobo.com or a Kobo eReader, click Start Free Trial on the item details screen of an eligible Kobo Plus book, or from the end of its preview. Residents of Quebec are not eligible for a free trial.

About trial periods:

Why do I need to add credit card information for a free trial?  

Free trials are only offered as part of a subscription plan. We require your credit card information to cover your recurring subscription charges once the free trial is complete. Residents of Quebec are not eligible for a free trial.

• Pre-paid Mastercard and Visa cards are not accepted at this time.

Why do I need to provide my mailing address?    

Your mailing address is required as part of your billing information so we can accurately charge sales tax based on where you live.

How do I find a Kobo Plus book to read with my subscription?    

You can and Kobo Plus books to add to your subscription on kobo.com, on Kobo eReaders, and in the Kobo App for Android. Any time you see an eBook with the option Read with Kobo Plus, it’s available to read with your subscription.

Why are some eBooks unavailable to read with a Kobo Plus subscription?    

Not every eBook from Kobo is available to read with a subscription. There are hundreds of thousands of eBooks currently available through Kobo Plus, with more being added all the time.    

Any time you see an eBook with the option Read with Kobo Plus, it’s available to read with your subscription.

How do I manage my Kobo Plus subscription?

On kobo.com, click My Account, then click My Subscriptions. You’ll see which books you’ve got access to, and the options to either renew or cancel your subscription.

On your Android Kobo app, go to the Home screen. Tap the  Menu icon at the top of the screen. Tap Settings. Under Account, tap Kobo Plus Subscription to manage your subscription details.    

Kobo Plus subscriptions cannot be managed on Kobo eReaders or in the Kobo App for iOS.

How do I cancel my Kobo Plus subscription?

Note:  If you cancel your Kobo Plus subscription, you'll no longer have access to your Kobo Plus books.

Can I access Kobo Plus on a Sony Reader?

Kobo Plus books cannot be downloaded and imported to Sony Readers. However, you can still get a Kobo Plus subscription on kobo.com and access the catalogue from the free Kobo App for Android or iOS smartphones or tablets.

Can I read my Kobo Plus books of offline, or do I need to be connected to a wireless network?

Many readers like to disconnect their devices from Wi Fi, either while travelling, or simply to save on battery life. You can read a maximum of 15 Kobo Plus books while offline over your trial period on a Kobo eReader or in the Kobo App.

Once you’ve opened 15 books, or reached the end of the trial period of offline reading, you’ll need to reconnect to Wi Fi and sync your eReader or app. You’ll then be able to open up to 15 Kobo Plus books.

I have a subscription and am moving to a country where Kobo Plus is not currently offered. What happens to my books?    

If you change your billing address to another country while you have an active subscription, you’ll still have access to your Kobo Plus books until you reach the end of your current billing period, but you won’t be able to search for or add new Kobo Plus titles to your subscription.

Once your current billing period ends, your Kobo Plus subscription will be cancelled.
