With the Pocket app, you can save articles and stories from websites that you’d like to read on your Kobo eReader.
First, you'll need to create a Pocket account and install the Pocket app on your web browser or smartphone.
Once you save an article to Pocket and sync your device—like your eReader or smartphone—the article will be available for you to read later.

Step 1: Create a Pocket account
Before you can use Pocket to read articles on your eReader, you’ll need to create a Pocket account. You can create a Pocket account on your Kobo eReader or by visiting getpocket.com.
To create a Pocket account on your eReader, you’ll need a stable Wi Fi connection before you begin.
- Go to your Home screen.
- Tap the More icon at the bottom of the screen.

Tap My Articles.
- Tap Link with Pocket.
- Go to the Pocket website by doing one of the following to enter the code shown on your eReader's screen:
- On your computer: Go to kobo.com/pocket

On your phone: Use your smartphone to scan the QR code
- Enter the code shown on your eReader's screen.
- Click Continue.
- Create a new Pocket account:
- Choose an account type that you'd like to create a Pocket account with. You can select from a Firefox, Apple or Google account. Follow the onscreen steps to complete the setup process.
Notes:
If you see an 'Internal Server Error' or a 'Can't log in to Pocket' message after clicking Authorize, clear the browser cache (Google Chrome) on your browser or use incognito mode (Google Chrome) and then repeat steps 1-7 again. We are aware if this issue and working on a solution.
If you already have a Pocket account: Enter your email or user name associated with your Pocket account and click Next. Follow the onscreen steps to complete the setup process.
- Choose an account type that you'd like to create a Pocket account with. You can select from a Firefox, Apple or Google account. Follow the onscreen steps to complete the setup process.
After you complete the setup process, your eReader will sign in to your Pocket account and show any articles that you've saved from Pocket.
Step 2: Add articles to your Pocket account
Before you can add articles to your Pocket account on your web browser, you’ll need to install the Pocket add-on to your web browser. You can also install the Pocket app on your tablet or smartphone.
Once you've installed the Pocket add-on to your web browser, simply click the Pocket icon near the top of your web browser to add any web article to your Articles from Pocket list.

You'll see saved web articles appear on your eReader after you sync.
Step 3: Read Articles from Pocket on your Kobo eReader
Once you’ve added articles to Pocket from your computer’s web browser, your tablet, or smartphone, you can read the articles on your eReader.
Note: You'll need access to a Wi Fi connection to download Pocket articles on to your eReader.
- Go to your Home screen.
- Tap the More icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap My Articles.
- Tap on an article to start reading.
Note: If you don't see an article that you've added, tap the Menu icon in the grey bar, then tap Refresh.
Pocket icons
Here are some of the icons you'll use the most on your Pocket app for your Kobo eReader.
Pocket menu - Tap to see more options for Pocket content, such as reading the content, adding the content to favourites, and more.
Archive - Tap to close your current article and send it to the Pocket archive list.
Favourite - Tap to add the article to your Pocket favourite list.
Delete - Tap to remove the article from your Pocket reading list.
