If you live in the United States, you can purchase additional coverage for your Kobo eReader to extend your warranty plan.

Kobo eReaders have a one year warranty. If you want to extended warranty coverage for your eReader, you can purchase a separate protection plan.

To provide you with the best possible service, we've partnered with a third party protection plan provider called Clyde.

How does the coverage work?

Your Kobo eReader comes with a 1 year manufacture warranty.

• If you purchase a 2-year Clyde Protection Plan, you'll get a total of 2 years of protection coverage. The first year of coverage will be covered by either Kobo or Clyde. The second year will be covered only by Clyde.
• If you purchase a 3-year Clyde Protection Plan, you will get a total of 3 years of protection coverage. The first year of coverage will be covered by either Kobo or Clyde. The second and third year will be only covered by Clyde.
  
  

What's included in the Clyde Protection Plan?

The Clyde extended Protection Plan covers some items that are not included under the Kobo warranty:

• Protection against accidental damage cause by drops and spills.
• Mechanical and electrical failure breakdowns after the Kobo warranty expires.
• Power surge protection.
  
  

What's not included in the Clyde Protection Plan?

The Clyde extended protection plan does not cover:

• Cosmetic damage, such as scratches or dents that do not impact the eReader functionality.
• Damage from third-party assembly or third-party maintenance of your product.
• Loss or theft.
• Battery issues.
• Other exclusions apply. See Clyde Terms & Condition’s for more information.

Note: Claims are subject to inspections by Clyde before approval.

How to buy an extended warranty coverage

The Clyde extended coverage is only available for selected eReaders purchased in the Kobo Store. You can buy the extended warranty within 60 days from the date of purchase.

You can purchase the Clyde Protection Plan:

• Through the Kobo store after you buy your eReader on Kobo.com
• From an email link after you buy an eReader from Kobo.com
• From Clyde's website

   2. Follow the onscreen steps to add your selected items to the cart.
   3. Verify the items in your cart. 
   4. Click Add product protection beside the eReader you want extended coverage. 
      
      
      
   5. Follow the onscreen steps to select the protection plan and complete your purchase. You can choose from a 2-year or 3-year protection plan.
   6. Check your email to see instructions on how to activate your Clyde warranty.
   7. Note: Keep your Clyde Contract ID stored somewhere safe for future reference.

Buy an extended warranty using the link in your Kobo receipt

After you buy an eReader from Kobo.com, you'll get a receipt in your email. You can click the link in the email to purchase your extended warranty.

If you did not purchase the protection plan, you will receive an email from Kobo offering the option to add this protection.

      2. Follow the onscreen steps to create a Clyde account.
         You must use the same email address that was used when purchasing your product from Kobo when creating an account to link to your Kobo sales order.
      3. Note: Keep your Clyde Contract ID stored somewhere safe for future reference.

How can I file a claim?

The claims will be filled through Clyde's website: hiclyde.com.

You can file a claim:

• By logging in to your Clyde account and selecting the corresponding product
• As a guest using the Contract ID found on your welcome email you received after purchasing the Protection Plan

Once you file your claim and it has been approved by Clyde, you'll get a promo code for the value of the eReader purchased that's associated with the Protection Plan.

To redeem the promo code, make an eReader purchase on Kobo Store. During the checkout process, enter your promo code in the 'Discount code' field.
