You'll find some differences when you're reading PDF books compared to regular books, including the option to read in landscape orientation, and to zoom in on the page.

Here are some things you can't do with a PDF book:

• Select text
• Add highlights
• Look up words in the dictionary
• Change the text size or style

Turning pages in PDFs on your Kobo eReader

Because you can zoom in on PDFs, turning the page is different than in regular EPUB books. If you're not zoomed in, you can tap or swipe the sides of the screen to turn pages.

If you are zoomed in, you can:

• Shift your view until you reach an edge of the page, and then tap left or right.
• Use the navigation bar to turn pages.

Zooming in and out of PDFs on your Kobo eReader

You can zoom in to a particular area of a page in a PDF file to see more details.

1. While reading your PDF, tap the centre of the screen. The Reading Menu will appear.
2. Tap the Navigation icon.
3. To zoom in and out of the page:

• Drag the slider at the bottom of the screen to zoom in and out, then drag your finger on the screen to pan around the page.
• Pinch the area of the screen that you'd like to zoom in and out of.

Reading PDFs in landscape mode on your Kobo eReader

Unlike regular eBooks which can only be read in portrait mode, PDFs can be read in landscape mode by rotating them at a 90° angle from your eReader's Reading Menu.

When you rotate your PDF sideways, it will have a wider display screen in landscape mode than in portrait mode. This allows you to see more text and is particularly useful when you are zoomed in on the document.

1. Tap the middle of your page to see the Reading Menu.
2. Tap the Navigate icon at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap the  Rotate icon.
4. The page will turn 90°.
5. Tap the icon again if you want to go back to your original page orientation.
