If you borrow books with OverDrive on your eReader, you can read the borrowed book on your Kobo app with some limitations.
- You can’t borrow books with the Kobo Books app.
- Not all books found in the public library are available with OverDrive. The library book must also be sold on Kobo.com.
- Wireless syncing between Libby/Overdrive and Kobo depends on an exact match of the book's digital fingerprint (ISBN-13 and publication date). When you borrow a book, Kobo searches its global catalog for an exact match. If the publisher has released an updated version like a movie tie-in, it will have a different ISBN. In such cases, the borrowed version from OverDrive may not match what's currently listed in Kobo's catalog, Since Kobo sync relies strictly on ISBN-13 and publication date rather than title or author name, the load cannot be completed.
- If you find a book in your library that isn’t sold by Kobo, you’ll need to use Adobe Digital Editions to add the file onto your eReader.
