What changes are Rakuten Kobo making to Kobo Super Points?
Currently, we have two tiers as part of our Kobo Super Points Rewards program: a free tier, and Kobo VIP Membership, which costs $10 a year (£6 in the United Kingdom). As of September 19th, 2022, we'll be unifying our program to the single, exclusive Kobo VIP Membership tier.
Kobo customers who don’t become VIP Members will no longer earn Kobo Super Points after September 19th, 2022, but can continue to redeem their points for eBooks and audiobooks until August 17, 2023, provided they have at least 2,400 points.
What will happen to my Kobo Super Points?
You’ll have until September 19th, 2022 to continue earning Kobo Super Points as a non-VIP Member. After September 19th, 2022, you’ll still be able to redeem your points for eBooks and audiobooks on kobo.com, but will no longer earn new points.
To continue earning points as usual, you can become a VIP Member by September 19th, 2022
If I don’t become a VIP, when will my points expire?
After August 17, 2023, any remaining points will be permanently removed from your account, unless you become a VIP Member before then.
If you have at least 2,400 points, you’ll be able to redeem your points for eBooks and audiobooks until August 23, 2023.
What are the benefits of becoming a VIP?

United Kingdom
- VIP Members earn 40 points for every pound spent on eBooks, audiobooks, and recurring subscription fees, up to 20x times the points on special bonus days, and enjoy other exclusive members-only benefits such as a free eBook annually from a list of popular titles.
- Redeem your points from a list of over 2 million titles, starting at just 2,400 points.
