Most books let you highlight text, just like using a highlighter in a printed book.
Note: You cannot highlight text in a PDF.
- While reading, press and hold a word for a few seconds until your word is highlighted.
- Lift your finger from the screen. You'll see a circle at each end of the word.
- Drag the first circle to the start of the text you want to select, and the second circle to the end.
Your selected text will automatically highlight. -
Optional:
- Undo a highlight: Tap Undo Highlight to remove the highlight you made.
- Add an annotation to your note: Tap Add Note to add additional details to your highlight.
- Search for your highlight: Tap Search to search for your highlight within the book, Wikipedia, or Google.
Change your highlight colour
If you have a Kobo Clara Colour or Kobo Libra Colour, you can change the colour of your highlights.
- While reading, press and hold a word for a few seconds until your text is highlighted.
- Lift your finger from the page. You'll see a circle at each end of the word.
- Drag the first circle to the start of the text you want to select, and the second circle to the end.
Your selected text will automatically highlight. - Tap on the highlight with your finger. A menu will appear.
- Tap on the colour that you'd like to change your highlight to.
- Tap anywhere on the screen to resume reading.
After you highlight text on your eBook, you can view all your highlights or remove the highlight. Learn more about removing highlights and viewing highlights:
