Kobo eReader Home screen

Your Home screen shows you an overview of books you’re currently reading and other suggested reads.


Your Home screen will look similar to this after you’ve added a few books:

If you have a Kobo Libra Colour or Kobo Clara Colour, your Home screen will display colours.

To open a book, tap on the cover. Your most recently opened books appear at the top of the screen.

Tap any of these icons on the Home screen: 

image-1.png More icon: Opens the eReader menu.
image-2.png Wi Fi icon: View and connect to available Wi Fi networks. 
image-3.png Brightness icon: Adjust screen brightness.
image-4.png Battery icon: See the battery status and change energy savings settings.
image-5.png Sync icon: Download recently purchased books onto your eReader and update your eReader software if there’s one available.
image-6.png Search icon: Search for books on your Kobo eReader or new books to buy in the Kobo Store.

Go back to the Home screen when reading

If you’re reading a book and want to see the Home screen, follow these steps:

  1. While reading, tap the middle of the screen.
    The Reading Menu will appear.
  2. Tap Back to Home.

Remove items from the Home screen

Your Home screen automatically shows the top four books that you recently opened.

You can remove books from the top-half of the Home screen so that it won’t appear. When you remove a book from the Home screen, the book remains in your Kobo account and won’t be deleted.

Note: The items on the bottom of the screen cannot be removed.

  1. Go to your Home screen.
  2. Press and hold a book cover at the top of the screen. A menu will appear.
  3. Tap Remove.
  4. Select Remove from Home.
    Note: By default, this option is selected.
  5. Tap Remove.
    The book cover will be removed from the Home screen, and another book will appear.
