How to use your Kobo Remote

(A) Forward Button: Press this button to navigate forward through your eBook pages or skip forward by 30 seconds on a Kobo Audiobook.

(B) Backward button: Press this button to navigate backward through your eBook pages or skip backwards by 30 seconds on your Kobo Audiobook.

Setup and Pairing your Kobo Remote with a Kobo eReader

Connecting your Kobo remote to your eReader is quick and simple. The device pairs instantly via Bluetooth with a single button press on the remote.

1. Long press the pairing button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. A fast blinking blue light will indicate the Kobo Remote is in pairing mode.
2. On your Kobo eReader:
   1. Go to More Setting
   2. Bluetooth Connection and turn on Bluetooth.
3. On your Kobo eReader, look for Kobo remote to select it to pair.
4. On your Kobo eReader Kobo Remote will display and connect.
5. Once Paired, the light on your Kobo Remote will stop blinking.

When your Kobo Remote is not pairing

1. Ensure Bluetooth is ON on your Kobo eReader (Settings > Bluetooth Connection) 
2. Make sure the Kobo Remote is in pairing mode (Press the front button on the top)
3. Replace the AAA battery in the remote.

How to replace the battery of your Kobo Remote

1. Push and slide the back cover
2. Replace the battery (1 AAA Battery)
3. Slide back the back cover

Tip: Turn off Bluetooth on your Kobo device when you are not using your Kobo Remote to conserve battery consumption. 

The Kobo remote is designed to stay ready, just like a TV remote, it doesn't need to be powered on or off.

Why does my Kobo Remote keep disconnecting?

The remote disconnects if the eReader or Bluetooth connection goes idle for too long.

Try these steps:

1. Restart Bluetooth: Turn Bluetooth off on you device, then turn it back on.
2. Remove old pairing: If the Kobo Remote was paired before, choose Forget/Remove on your device. Clear the remote pairing memory if needed.
3. Check the battery: Replace the battery with a fresh AAA battery
4. Re-pair the Kobo Remote: Pair the Kobo Remote again with your Kobo eReader.
