You can enable parental controls to lock access to the Kobo Store and the web browser.
Locking access to the Kobo Store and web browser can be useful if you have different people using the same eReader.
If you live in France:
- For the prevention of risks associated with the exposure of minors to online public communication services, particularly regarding harassment, addictive practices, exposure to inappropriate content, or overexposure or premature exposure of screen users, please visit the website: www.jeprotegemonenfant.gouv.fr.
If you live in Italy:
- To see how you can guide your child's online experience and learn more about the advantages of parental control tools, please visit these websites for more information:
To turn on parental controls:
- Go to your Home screen.
-
Tap the More icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Accounts.
- Beside 'Block store and web access', tap the slider button. You'll see the Parental Controls PIN screen.
- Enter a 4-digit passcode and follow the onscreen steps.
Note: If you forget your passcode, you'll need to sign out of your eReader and set it up again.
After you've enabled parental controls, you will no longer have access to the Kobo Store or the web browser on your eReader.
How do I filter out unwanted content?
The parental controls setting only disables the Kobo Store and web browser. You'll still be able to see all of your content even with parental controls turned on.
If you have multiple people using your eReader and only want to show certain books, you'll need to create a new account for each person. For example, you can create a new dedicated account that only has children's books.
