You can stream audiobooks from your eReader to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
Before you start:
- Purchase an audiobook on Kobo.com or on your eReader
- Connect your Bluetooth headphones or speaker to your eReader
Open your audiobook
To open an audiobook on your eReader:
- Go to your Home screen.
- Tap My Books at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on the audiobook that you’d like to listen to.
The audiobook file will download onto your eReader, and then open the audiobook player. Audiobook files have a headphones icon and the words 'Audiobook' in the description.
Audiobook download progress
If you see a download icon next to the audiobook title, it means that you’ll need access to a Wi Fi connection so that you can download the audiobook file.
As your audiobook is downloading, you’ll see the downloading in progress icon and 'Downloading' next to your audiobook.
Depending on your internet connection, it can take a few minutes for the download to complete.
Manage storage space on your eReader
Since audiobooks require more storage space than eBooks, you may have to remove some eBooks on your eReader to make space for your audiobooks. When you remove an eBook from your eReader, you can always re-download it again later.
Audiobook file sizes range from 50 MB (megabytes) all the way to 14 GB (gigabytes) or more. Depending on how many audiobooks you own, you may have to remove some eBooks or audiobooks on your eReader to free up storage space on your eReader.
